Sorry for not posting for a while. I've been tired as hell 'cause the work has been a bit overwhelming. There's a lot of things happening at the moment; the renovation, two big happenings in following weeks that needs a lot of planning and preparing AND employee's long sick leave all at the same time. Someone could say it was a burnout for me, but I say let's forget the past and instead of that let's look to the future. I'm happy to have many wonderful people around me helping to get these problems solved. :) Anyway, the past week reminded me that people need to have a vacation every now and then. So what did I do? Booked a flight for May, yayy! Until then I'll think back the journey to Australia. These are the photos from days 3-5 from my trip.
The third day was all about surfing so we went to Surfer's Paradise. I had never surf before. Unfortunately I have no pics from the beach while we surfed but I DID SURF! I catched the waves and I stood on the surfboard, really! So much fun! :)) The day 4 we took a flight from Brisbane to Airlie Beach and did some hard core tanning for some hours. After that we took a long walk to the nearest mall and went back to our hostel. There we had pasta and avocado salad when all the other back packers had noodles, ha! (What do you mean, I'm not a competitive person, haha.) Day 5 we packed our bags and headed to the harbor and took a boat to the Great Barrier Reef and snorkeled there for a while. The staff in the boat was the best. I was cranky as hell when we boarded to the ship since I hadn't had my morning coffee, but the lovely snorkeling boys brought the black gold to us right away. Love them!
We had a long day in this lovely boat, but when we were getting closer to the Long Island where we were staying the following nights the storm clouds gathered nearby. Luckily we managed to bypass it without getting too wet, but sitting on the deck wasn't really an option then. When the day was getting darker the last thing we could see on the sky was this double rainbow, which was the perfect thing to end the day. Oh Australia, I miss you!
