Terracotta Army

Couple of weeks ago we visited Vapriikki museum to see The Terracotta Warriors and Horses. It was awe-inspiring to see how much work have they done in China back in the days to get these done. Actually, there was not that many warriors in the museum, but it was enough to get an idea of the army. The details of the statues are crazy. There was a guided tour while we were there, so that's how we got some facts and trivia of the army. Too bad the tempo of the guide was too slow to my pals, so we decided to go trough the show by ourselves. It was good enough in that way, too. I even bought a little statue of my own from the museum shop. Made in China - of course.

Bachelor Party

The other weekend we were celebrating a bachelor party of my friends. She was picked up from work by limo, which took us to the harbor. We took a cruise to Estonia and partied all night long. The girl was dressed as Elvis and we had a great laugh when she was singing her songs trough the weekend to random people to collect money for the wedding.

The next day we made the star of the weekend walk in the skies; there is Tele Tower in Tallinn, Estonia, where people can walk on the roof in harnesses in 180 m height. The weekend was a great surprise for the upcoming pride, so the event went just great!

Favourite Things At Home

Piling boxes.

I have these boxes left from different lamps, wallets and watches, and I dare not no throw them away in case I need them some day. Luckily they are also pretty, so I decided to use the boxes as a decoration. I can store little items in them and have the boxes standing on a dresser and form a graphic decor element.

Today I'm Snackin...

...fruity salad with taco chips and red berries cider. The salad was very all-over-the-place but delicious.

The cup is Verner Panton's. Glass Villeroy & Boch.

Grill Party

I hosted recently a minor grill party. I had friends over and we cooked all the dishes together. We had salad and french loaf with cream cheese as a starter. The main course was pork tenderloin skewer with halloum cheese and pineapple. As a dessert we had vanilla ice cream and strawberries. The evening was relaxed and fun and the weather allowed us to hang at the yard until night. We should do this more often!

Most Enthusiastic Customer

The funniest thing happened to me the other day. Or at least it was the weirdest thing so far in my career of an entrepreneur. I was hosting a grill party at my place and was having friends over. We were preparing food when my phone rang at 7.30pm. I thought it would be some of my pals asking directions but it turned out to be one of my customers. The shop was obviously closed hours ago, but the guy REALLY needed to buy a spare part from my shop before driving to north for a summer holiday for weeks.

At first I wasn't really that eager to leave my guests at my place on their own and tried to explain the reasons why I wasn't able to help him. We talked about their situation for a while and because the guy sounded desperate I said finally OK. I didn't have a car with me at the moment so we agreed that he would pick me up at my place, we would drive to the shop and he would also drive me back - and so did we.

He had the whole family with him, along all the holiday equipment, so the car was fully packed. The wife had to hop off the car to fit me in, so she waited near my house the time we hurried ourselves to the shop. Well, we found the right parts and the customer was able to start his journey with his family, so there was happy ending after all. I believe the guy will be an extremely loyal customer after this, or at least so he said, and repeated thank you about million times. :-)

Customer servant above all, that's me! Sure the spare part costed a little extra because of the situation, but not that much. After this I was able to continue my grill party. Luckily my friends coped well with the dogs and the grill and I was able to walk straight to the dining table. I love how own-initiative me friends are. ;-)

Have a nice week!

Flowers, oh flowers!

I flag the easiest way when talking about planting. I choose the biggest and most flourishing flowers from a garden store and stuck them into the pots with some soil. I have no green thumb really, but still my entrance looks good enough. Sure I water the flowers frequently but that's all I do, and at least so far my tactic has worked just fine. The easier the better! To my neighbors I claim with bright eyes that the pretty flowers have something to do with my roots in countryside. ;-) ...just kidding!

This is not the door I use frequently. Just in case you wonder. ;-)
